Jacob Lomas Sanchez, MSW

Director, Albuquerque Projects


Jacob Sanchez is the Director of Albuquerque Projects for Innovate+Educate.  Before taking this position, he was employed by the Nusenda Foundation as contract consultant for the City of Albuquerque Mayor’s Office in the role of Director for Mayor Berry’s Bloomberg Foundation funded Innovation Team initiative (ABQ i-team) to focus on developing strategies to increase economic opportunities for CABQ youth employees 16 to 24. He also served as a consultant to Living Cities City Accelerator project conducting Human Centered Design facilitation and research support to develop CABQ supported outreach strategies for local business, community based organizations, and stakeholders serving Native American and Immigrant Entrepreneurs.

Jacob has shown a proven commitment to the diverse cultural populations in New Mexico and  has over 15+ years of experience implementing programs and providing services to youth and families.  He has served as an Associate Director for Youth Development Incorporated supporting a multifaceted statewide initiative, known as ELEV8 Full Service Community Schools, in three Independent School Districts located in Dona Ana, Cibola, and Bernalillo Counties.   Before moving to Southern New Mexico to pursue and complete a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New Mexico State University, Jacob served in both public and private child welfare service institutions in the State of Texas with an extensive emphasis in child protection, foster care, adoption, permanency, as well as prevention and intervention programming in juvenile justice programs.
